Closed-Loop Nitroglycerine & Esmolol Abstract Nominated for "Best Abstracts" at 2026 American Society of Anesthesiologists Annual Meeting

An abstract presenting simultaneous closed-loop control of both nitroglycerine and esmolol submitted to the American Society of Anesthesiologists 2026 Annual Meeting has been selected as a finalist for the "Best Abstracts"award and will be presented as an oral presentation during the conference.

The work being presented was performed using Perceptive Medical's novel control algorithms in collaboration with our UC Irvine research partners. What is novel about this particular project is the utilization of two new agents designed for hypertensive emergencies, as well as the coordinated simultaneous administration of the two agents by the controller to optimize hemodynamics while avoiding unacceptable secondary effects and interactions from the two agents. The work is presently being developed into a full manuscript for publication.
